On August 19-20, 2024, the Brazilian Ministry of Health held a pivotal workshop in Brasília to finalize the National Plan to Defeat Bacterial Meningitis by 2030. This ambitious plan, aligned with WHO’s Global Roadmap, aims to reduce deaths caused by bacterial meningitis by 70% and eliminate epidemics of the disease in the coming years. The workshop gathered experts from across Brazil, along with representatives from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), to finalize the strategies needed to achieve these goals.
